About us
My name is Andrew and I am the sole director of this well-established company based in Newton Hall, Durham.
The ambition & vision started back in 2007 when I first decided to pursue to become a qualified bricklayer & builder, it was at this point I decided to attend New College Durham to study my level 1 in brickwork it becomes apparent that I had a natural skill for the trade, once I completed my level 1 I then went on to complete my Level 2 where I had been entered into a national skill build competition in which I finished 3rd then to go on and received student of the year, I felt these where great achievements and would help in the search for an apprenticeship to complete my level 3.
After some intense searching with help from close family and friends I secured an apprenticeship with Meldrum Construction based in Birtley. I worked very closely under Stephen Rowland who taught me the real art to bricklaying and also the attention to detail, we spent a lot of time together where I gained a mass of knowledge that prepared me for the real world of becoming a bricklayer/builder.
I then was entered into a regional skill build competition in which I finished 2nd, again I felt this also was a great achievement, I then went on to complete my level 3 under this company and continued my employment until the company decided to reduce its members of staff by a large percentage due to their own difficulties.
I then decided to use my knowledge and skill and went on to subcontracting to small building companies around the County Durham area, after a few years it then becomes apparent that I had the ability to run and manage my own works and adapt to other general building trades comfortably and at that point, I did just that!
I set up with a small transit connect van and £500 cash flow and the determination to make a successful business, the business started to grow rapidly through social media which then I decided to take the plunge with a larger van, the growing company then required more staff, again employed family members to help grow the business.
The company was then in a
position to re brand and purchase 2 new vehicles to create a fresh, clean modern look.
It was a great decision from the word go, with some long days and hours from myself and the team, we have produced some excellent work over the 5 years we have now been trading whilst meeting some amazing and inspirational clients along the way.
We now have an exceptional reputation through social media and within our local area.
We believe the journey has just begun...
